About
What SharpScroll is — and what it isn’t.
SharpScroll makes Indian bank fees, credit card costs, and statement charges easier to understand. Independent, source-backed, and built with honest math.
I started SharpScroll because I was frustrated by how difficult it is for ordinary account holders to understand bank charges. Most bank websites hide fees inside 40-page PDF schedules, statements use cryptic narration codes like AMB CHGS, and many comparison sites are just affiliate portals pushing whichever product pays the highest bounty.
With a background in advanced accounting, I believe financial data should be clear, verifiable, and free of sales spin. We check official bank schedules and RBI circulars line by line, include 18% GST in our calculations, and provide the exact source link for every number so you can verify it yourself.
What SharpScroll is
SharpScroll is a consumer financial-intelligence product for India. It focuses on bank fees, charges, and the true cost of banking — the numbers that appear on statements and are rarely explained.
For each charge, SharpScroll shows the amount, the conditions under which it applies, any documented waiver or exception, and a link to the official source it came from. It also shows when that source was checked.
Where enough verified data exists, SharpScroll enables meaningful comparison of the same charge across multiple banks, so you can evaluate the difference without reading dozens of PDFs.
What SharpScroll is not
- Not a financial adviser. Nothing on this site is financial advice.
- Not affiliated with any bank or financial institution.
- Not regulated by RBI, SEBI or any financial regulator.
- Not a bank aggregator or loan distribution marketplace.
- Not a lender, broker or distributor of financial products.
Data philosophy
SharpScroll only shows information that is supported by an official bank or regulator source. If we cannot verify a charge from the bank’s own published materials, we leave it out.
We never invent amounts, conditions or waivers. Where the source is silent, we say so. Where the source is ambiguous, we say so. Where we have not yet been able to verify something, we do not show it.
Each entry records which official document was used, where in that document the information appears, and when we checked it.
Financial disclaimer
Information on SharpScroll is for general reference only. Bank charges change. Sources may be updated or superseded. Always verify the current applicable charge directly with your bank before making any financial decision.
If you believe a charge was applied to your account incorrectly, use your bank’s official grievance redressal mechanism and, where applicable, the Reserve Bank – Integrated Ombudsman Scheme, 2021. SharpScroll does not determine grievance eligibility or initiate disputes.
SharpScroll is not responsible for decisions made based on information shown on this site.
Coverage and corrections
SharpScroll currently covers 33 Indian banks with source-backed fee information. Coverage expands as official Schedule of Charges documents are verified.
We prioritize major public-sector and private-sector banks, followed by regional and specialized commercial banks where official source material is publicly accessible and unambiguous.
If you notice information that appears incorrect or outdated, or if a bank’s official source has changed:
Please check the official source link shown on the relevant charge entry for the most current version. Bank fee schedules change periodically, and the date shown is when we last checked.
SharpScroll actively monitors registered official sources for changes. When a change is detected, the affected charges enter a review queue before any update goes live.
